1892 Hironori Ohtsuka Sensei was born Shimodate City
1897 Hironori Ohtsuka Sensei started school where he studied Shindo Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu.
1920 Hironori Ohtsuka Sensei was awarded the highest degree of Shindo Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu, which allowed him to succeed his master's position as fourth Grand Master.
1922 Gichin Funakoshi Sensei was invited by the Japanese Education Department to demonstrate his style of Okinawan Karate.

Tatsuo Suzuki Sensei born in Yokohama.
1934 Hironori Ohtsuka Sensei started his own school under the name of Dai
Nippon Karate Shinko Club.
1939 Wado Ryu recognised by Japan Martial Arts Federation.
1942 Tatsuo Suzuki Sensei Began training in Wado Ryu Karate.
1945 Tatsuo Suzuki Sensei receives direct instruction from the founder of Wado Ryu, Hironori Ohtsuka Sensei at the Wado Ryu Headquarters.
1951 at the age of 24 Tatsuo Suzuki Sensei was awarded the then highest grade in Wado-Ryu, 5th Dan.
1963 Mr. Arakawa, Mr Takashima and Tatsuo Suzuki Sensei leave Japan to take Wado Ryu to Europe and America.
1966 Tatsuo Suzuki Sensei founded the first Wado Federation in England.
1966 Hironori Ohtsuka Sensei was awarded the title "Kun Goto Suokuo Kyoku jujitsu Shou" by the late Emperor Horohito.
1969 John Moreton Sensei begins training.
1971 John Moreton Sensei is graded to Shodan (currently 6th Dan but long over due 7th Dan).
1972 Hironori Ohtsuka Sensei was awarded the title Meijin a title never before given to a Karate Master.
1973 Tatsuo Suzuki Sensei awarded his 8th Dan and also in the same year was given the title of Hanshi.
1974 Mike Sutcliffe Sensei begins Training under John Moreton Sensei.
1980 Mike Sutcliffe Sensei grades to Shodan.
1981 The English Karate Association is formed by John Moreton Sensei, Barry Wilkinson, Joe Balko & Yoshi Shinohara.
1982 Hironori Ohtsuka Sensei passed away.
1982 Steve Balaam-Reed Sensei begins instruction under Mike Sutcliffe Sensei.
1987 Steve Balaam-Reed Sensei is graded to shodan and opens Chikara Wado Ryu.
1987 Steve Balaam-Reed Sensei is selected to represent the EKA national squad.
1990 Sempai Roger Moorhouse begins instruction under Josh Johnson Sensei 7th Dan
1995 Sempai Sophie Balaam-Reed Begins instruction under her Father Steve Balaam-Reed Sensei.
1997 Sempai Roger Moorhouse grades to Shodan
2000 Mike Sutcliffe Sensei grades to 6th Dan.
2002 Steve Balaam-Reed Sensei is graded to Sandan.
2002 Sempai Sophie Balaam-Reed is graded to Shodan.
2004 John Moreton Sensei Graded to 7th Dan
2005 Sempai Sophie Balaam-Reed becomes AMA national Champion at - 60 kilos
2005 Steve Balaam-Reed Sensei begins training again with John Moreton Sensei.
2006 Steve Balaam-Reed Sensei grades to Yondan
2006 Emily Watson Sempai grades to Shodan
2006 Craig Bunting Sempai grades to Shodan
2007 Emily Watson Becomes European womens Kumite champion at over 65 kilos
2008 Tracy Balaam-Reed Sempai grades to Shodan
2008 Ashleigh Clarkson Sempai grades to Shodan
2008 Alex Backshall Sempai grades to Shodan
2009 Thomas Balaam-Reed Sempai grades as the youngest ever Shodan in the Independant Wado Ryu Karate Do Association.
